Today, on the very last day of the year 2022, I have finally started this blog as a journal of life within St Mary's International Schools Ilorin. We are a small school structurally and there are many who look down on us because of this. All I can say is that small is beautiful and does have its advantages. We have been around for quite a while and bear witness to the changes in the landscape of education in our immediate community and the country at large. In that regard, experience has shown Not All that Glitters is Gold.
At my school we strive a lot to please our parents by making our children shine like Stars in every way. Sometimes, we make mistakes which is OK because it means we are learning. Everyone even teachers, parents and children need permission to fail so they can get past the fear and just Get Stuff Done.
At my school, everbody has a Teaching/Learning Story and I shall do my best to tell the truth about these stories in the most interesting way possible. What is the truth? It is that we, teacher, parents and pupils, are all working too hard all the time and smart too some of the time to remain relatively unknown to the wide world.
Let us share our experiences and learn together how we improve like fine wine in time.
